The ESAW Box Type Sonometer (SW-2292) is a precision-built resonance box designed for studying the relationship between frequency, tension, and length of vibrating strings. The sonometer consists of a hollow wooden resonance box (114cm × 12.5cm × 10cm) fitted with two meter scales graduated in millimeters. One brass and one steel wire are mounted between fixed bridges, tensioned by wrest pins, while a pulley system at the end allows weights to be applied for tension adjustments.
The instrument comes complete with two short and two long bridges, along with extra wires (1 each of steel & brass, 22 SWG, length ~1.5m) for extended use.
Use Cases:
-
Students: Learn wave motion, resonance, and frequency relationships.
-
Schools & Colleges: Ideal for classroom physics demonstrations.
-
Science & Physics Labs: Core instrument for acoustic experiments.
-
Engineering, Medical & Nursing Colleges: Teaches applied resonance in physics and biomedical sciences.
-
Research Centres & Industrial Labs: Supports precise studies in sound and material science.
Recognized for export-quality lab equipment from India, ESAW supplies affordable sonometers worldwide to Africa, Europe, Asia, and the USA, catering to both institutional procurement and bulk distribution.
